All of the Complete Comprehension books use low readability text to stimulate comprehension at the three basic levels : Literal, Inferential and Making Generalisations. The Reading Age of each story and cloze passage is provided. In Book A, each passage is followed by a picture completion activity and a set of questions for each level of comprehension. The questions are followed by a cloze passage which paraphrases the previous story. Words to be inserted are provided but can be cut off to test for short term retention. Supplementary teacher's notes provide answers to the comprehension questions and the cloze passages. Interest Level Nat. Cur. Years 1~4. Reading Age ranges from 6.2 - 8.0
Book 1 follows the format of Book A but without the picture completion activities. The passages become progressively more demanding with a slightly more compact presentation. 74 Pages Interest Level Nat. Cur. Years 2~5. Reading Age ranges from 6.6 - 9.4
Book 2 has the same format as Book 1 but with more demanding passages. Interest Level Nat. Cur. Years 4-10 Reading Age range : 7.10 - 9.4
Book 3 has a similar format to Books 1 and 2 but with contexts set in the ‘adult world’. Intended for use for Key Stage 4 ~ Adult. Reading Age ranges from 6.10 ~ 10.0
